To maximize your chances of success, we suggest you choose two allies to accompany and encourage you in the program. These allies are your “partners”. One could be your life partner and the other could be a family member, friend or health care provider who is following you during your pregnancy (e.g., doctor, midwife, doula).
Partner support can be ongoing. For example, you could ask your partner to give you weekly reminders about completing the You, Me, Baby modules. Support can also be occasional. For example, you could have your partner practise a communication exercise with you, help you to examine your distorted thoughts, plan out a sensible approach to sharing household chores after the baby is born, or discuss what you have learned in the module. Receiving a reminder from someone and sharing what you have learned are great ways of maintaining your motivation and solidifying your new skills.
