Is it normal to feel anxious or depressed during pregnancy or after childbirth?

About one in five pregnant women experiences feelings of anxiety and sadness during pregnancy and after childbirth. In other words, these are common symptoms.

If your feelings are intense, prevent you from functioning normally and last for more than two weeks, it may be a good idea to talk to a health professional. If you have concerns about your or your partner’s mental health, it is important to seek help as soon as possible. There are various resources available on that topic in the Toolkit.
