- Mindfulness is the practice of intentionally paying attention to internal (i.e., sensations, emotions, thoughts, states of mind) or external experiences while in the present moment, and doing so without passing judgments. The practice of mindfulness promotes well-being and facilitates the management of difficult emotions and thoughts.
Meditation is a more sustained practice of mindfulness usually done in the absence of other activities.
